1Thatch — Unfinished.

Thatch — Peter begins the jam with his punchy 80s-inspired synth patch, letting Rick do some digital sauce noodling overtop. The guitarist leads into the darkness and the rhythm section is right with him, both Cotter and Trevor really going ham as Peter cultivates a hypnotic and repeating theme. In a classic Rick move, the churning and heavy peak eventually gives way to a major mode, and he tears through the intense beauty of the second half with incredible melodic contributions from the other three.

Good2B — Emerges beautifully from a chill groove at the end of a stellar "Thatch." Newly returned to the rig after almost two years, Peter's Nord Lead synth takes centre stage with textures, meshing well with Rick's reverse loops. Great linear build and finish as the band smoothly breaks to sunny territory from the open psychedelia.

2The Way It Is — Bruce Hornsby.
